At 11a.m. I have my second interview for the loan processor job... I don't want it, but I need to get it, for now at least. For those who don't know, I've been temping at a bank in the home equity department for the past year and change. The temp position technically is only supposed to last a year, at most. So for the past few weeks I've been there on borrowed time. They aren't hiring for the position I've been in. My only options within the company were collections, which just isn't an option, and loan processor (aka "SPS", 'sales processing specialist'). From everything I've heard and seen, SPS's have it rough, lots of expectations, lots of contact with asshole bankers, lots of stress. In the job I've been doing, whenever I have a difficult banker (and there are plenty, bankers [in this company anyway] are often some of the dumbest, most obnoxious people on the planet) I can foist them on to an SPS. I'm going to miss that. And this is more than likely going to be a paycut, probably anywhere from 2 to 4K a year. Blah. On the plus side, I didn't have to go hunting for this job (I HATE job searching) and I'll be in the same building (its a close walk from home).
I guess I'm sounding like I already have the position. I don't. I'm fairly confident I'll get it, I have great internal references and I interview really well. So yeah, confident. But even still, the idea of interviewing gives me butterflies. So ummm, think good thoughts or something for me, dear readers ;)
At 6:15p.m. I'll be coming home to a wee tiny kitten boy!! Josh will picking him up in the early afternoon!!! WoooT! There will be pictures galore and they will posted without delay. I'm anxious about how Wink is going to react to the little guy. She won't actually get to see him for several days, but she'll definitely know he's here. Back in the day she hated other cats. She always got used to living with my various roomates various cats, but she never liked any of them much. But she's much much older now and more ...ermm....'mature'. When I lived in apartment with an indoor hallway last year, she always wanted to be out there playing with the neighbor cat. And she seems to want company all the time lately... so I'm optimistic.
P.S. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday (it was monday) Y'all are good people. :)
